Begins Week of March 15
U.S. Route 60 (James River Freeway)/Glenstone Avenue Interchange Project
Springfield, Greene County – Drivers can expect lane closings, traffic shifts and possible delays on U.S. Route 60 (James River Freeway) in south Springfield when a widening and resurfacing project begins the week of March 15, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The week of March 1, drivers will see work zone signs and other work zone items installed.
The project will add a lane in the Route 60 median in each direction between National Avenue and Route 65 and resurface Route 60 between Glenstone Avenue and Highland Springs Boulevard in south Springfield.
Here’s a look at the project:
Add lane in Route 60 median in both eastbound and westbound directions between National Avenue and Route 65
Widen westbound Route 60 off ramp to Glenstone Avenue
Widen westbound Route 60 off ramp to National Avenue
Widen eastbound Route 60 to Route 65 on ramp
Resurface Route 60 between Glenstone Avenue and Highland Springs Boulevard
Narrowed lanes and traffic shifts on Route 60 between National Avenue and Route 65
Nighttime lane closures on Route 60 between National Avenue and Highland Springs Boulevard
Drivers should not pass in the work zone due to narrowed driving lanes on Route 60 between National Avenue and Route 65
Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
Drivers should look for alternate route
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

Total estimated cost: $13.6 million
