Columbia Police arrest two suspects in connection to homicide in the 900 block of North Keene Street, Aug. 20

Columbia Police have arrested two suspects in connection to a homicide that occurred Aug. 20 in the parking lot of Moser’s Foods in the 900 block of North Keene Street.Loyal Martell, 22, of Holts Summit, was arrested for first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. Martell was taken into custody with the help of the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, the Fulton Police Department and the Holts Summit Police Department. Joshua Dudley, 22, of Kirksville, was arrested for second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Dudley was taken into custody with the help of the Kirksville Police Department.Martell and Dudley were remanded to the custody of the Boone County Jail.The arrests are in connection to an incident that occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 20 when Columbia Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 900 block of North Keene Street.Upon arrival officers located an adult male victim with apparent gunshot wounds, later identified as Shavez Avieon Waage, 22, of Columbia. Officers attempted to provide medical aid, however, the victim was already deceased. Next of kin has been notified.This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
