City of Columbia Housing Programs Division issues request for applications for FY 2022 Community Development Block Grant and HOME funds

The City of Columbia anticipates receiving approximately $1,000,000 in FY 2022 CommunityDevelopment Block Grant (CDBG) funds and $600,000 in FY 2022 HOME funding from theDepartment of Housing and Urban Development available during 2022. Funds will be provided forCDBG and HOME eligible activities identified in the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan. An informationalsession for any interested individuals or organizations will be held in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 701E. Broadway on May 27, 2021 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.CDBG FundingCDBG funds primarily benefit low to moderate income households, and can be used for affordablehousing, economic development, community facilities and neighborhood infrastructure.HOME FundingEligible HOME activities include: homebuyer assistance, new construction for homeownership, or forrental occupancy by households with special needs, tenant-based rental assistance, and rehabilitationfor homeownership or rental occupancy. All HOME assisted housing must benefit lower incomehouseholds. Staff will review project eligibility; the Community Development Commission will reviewcriteria, application submission procedures, and project implementation requirements.Applications will be available at the Housing Programs Division, 500 E.
